The Institute’s President Roy Leung hosted a luncheon today, bringing together representatives from prominent media outlets. The purpose of the luncheon was to share the Institute’s key focuses this year, as outlined in the updated “Strategic Plan”. President Leung emphasized the Institute’s work plan on attracting talents to foster the development of the accounting profession. 📚💼 Interactive Seminar on the Accounting Profession 💡 As a proud partner of the Business-School Partnership Programme with the Education Bureau Life Planning Education Section, the Institute organizes engaging seminars for senior secondary school students. 🎓✨ At the seminar held, we had the privilege of hosting Michael T. B. Chan, Council Member of the Institute, General Manager - Corporate Strategy of MTR Corporation Limited, and Managing Director of MTR Lab Company Limited. Michael shared his invaluable insights and personal journey in the accounting profession, inspiring the students with his wealth of knowledge and experiences. The students gained valuable insights into the accounting profession, its potential career paths, and the importance of continuous personal development. 🎉 Congratulations to the winners of the CPA Marathon Competition 2024 & AC Fun Run 2024! 🏅 Today, we celebrated the remarkable achievements of CPA runners at the prestigious Standard Chartered Hong Kong Marathon. 🏃🏃 The prize presentation ceremony was a moment of pride and joy, attended by President Roy Leung, Vice President Edward Au, and esteemed council members Michael Li, Charbon Lo, Yan Yeung, and Parco Wu. Over 30 CPA runners, including our members and students, were also present to share in the excitement. 📢 Visit from CA ANZ   We were thrilled to welcome esteemed guests from CA ANZ (Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand) to our office. Both CA ANZ and the Institute are proud members of the Global Accounting Alliance (GAA), a prestigious network of leading accounting institutes worldwide.   The meeting brought together key representatives from both organizations to foster collaboration and discuss important matters in our profession. Participants from CA ANZ included Ms. Ainslie Van Onselen, Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Simon Grant - Group Executive Advocacy and International Development and, Ms. Elizabeth Chan, Head-Hong Kong.   The meeting covered various significant topics, including Institutional updates by HKICPA & CA ANZ on their latest initiatives, achievements, and future plans, highlighting their commitment to excellence in the accounting profession. Collaborations between HKICPA & CA ANZ HK were also discussed to bring valuable opportunities for professional development and knowledge sharing. A crucial discussion revolved around innovative ideas and strategies to attract and retain top talent while ensuring the profession's continued growth and relevance.   The visit provided a remarkable platform for knowledge exchange, networking, and reinforcing the strong bond between HKICPA and CA ANZ.
