ESG Workshop on Sustainability Governance and Risk Management (WSHP23082501) According to the Global Risk Report 2023 published by the World Economic Forum, sustainability-related risks are considered the major risks that organizations face in terms of likelihood and severity. Companies are exposed to significant reputation, operational, and financial risks if they fail to identify their environmental and social risks and take appropriate actions in a timely manner. In view of this, the IFRS Sustainability Disclosure Standards issued by the ISSB require companies to assess their sustainability-related risks, describe the related impacts, and develop governance and controls mechanisms to further protect stakeholders' interests. While sustainability-related risks are becoming prominent among the corporate risks universe, companies may find it challenging to incorporate into the corporate risk management framework and effectively manage the related risks due to lack of knowledge and experience. This Workshop has been created for Institute members to help them understanding the essence of sustainability-related risks and opportunities, and equip members with practical knowledge of risk governance and management processes. In this workshop, the speakers will cover: • Introduction to sustainability-related risk and opportunities, and its implications for businesses • Sustainability governance and risk assessment processes • Development of mitigation plan and internal controls for sustainability-related risks • Disclosure on sustainability governance and risk management
