While the International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB) is expected to finalize its two inaugural standards on general sustainability disclosure requirements (IFRS S1) and climate-related disclosures (IFRS S2) in June 2023, the Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEX) has recently published a consultation paper to enhance climate disclosures under its ESG Guide to align with IFRS S2 with a proposed effective date of 1 January 2024.
